Basketball Recap: St. Paul Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If St. Paul Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 67-27 takedown of Crosby last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Paul Catholic Falcons fell just short of the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans by a score of 42-39 on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

St. Paul Catholic's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Waterbury Career Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul Catholic will venture away from home to take on Ansonia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ansonia will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something St. Paul Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they will take on Bristol Eastern at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
