Walton has gone a perfect 5-0 against North Paulding recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will head out to challenge the Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m. Walton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully North Paulding likes a good challenge.
Walton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-8 victory over Etowah. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.
It was another big night for Noriega Thompson, who rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Walton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Meanwhile, North Paulding strolled past Wheeler with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 43-29. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Wildcats are ranked 127th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Paulding's win came from a few key players Walton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyler Niehr, who threw for 169 yards and four TDs. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Presley Carr was Niehr's top target, picking up 90 receiving yards and three scores.
North Paulding is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games. As for Walton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Thompson and Khalil Harrell. Thompson just won't slow down this season and has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 113.9 rushing yards per game. Harrell has been a dominant force too and has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 99 rushing yards per game.
Walton took their victory against North Paulding in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-20 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Wolfpack's Dube Enongene, who picked up 236 receiving yards and one touchdown.
