Volleyball Recap: Greenwood Starts Season with Win on the Road

Greenwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Rogers Mountaineers 3-2 on Thursday. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Greenwood got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-14, 8-25, 25-16, 12-25, 25-23.

Rylee Broman-McAdams paced Greenwood's offense, picking up 15 kills. Broman-McAdams got some help from Addi Webb and her 19 assists. Abrey Jureka controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Rogers lost, don't look at Drew Deimel. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and two aces.

Greenwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Fayetteville on the 25th. As for Rogers, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Prairie Grove on the 25th.
