Baseball Recap: Hidden Valley's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Cave Spring on Thursday, Hidden Valley came back down to earth. The Titans took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glenvar Highlanders on Monday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Highlanders earlier this season, when they won 11-0.

Wyatt Clarke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Hidden Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Braxton Nichols, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The defeat snapped Hidden Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-5 record. As for Glenvar, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Hidden Valley will face off against Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glenvar, they will challenge Patrick County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Highlanders have won four straight at home, while the Cougars won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
