Whetstone has gone a perfect 5-0 against Columbus International recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 5:30 p.m. Whetstone is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.

Whetstone fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Centennial last Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Stars by a score of 8-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Lija Barzdukas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Kraus, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Columbus International got the win against Africentric Early College last Thursday by a conclusive 22-12. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Whetstone's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Columbus International, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Everything went Whetstone's way against Columbus International in their previous matchup on April 2nd, as Whetstone made off with a 19-1 victory. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
