Baseball Recap: Goshen Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Goshen, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the La Porte Slicers on Saturday. The RedHawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bryson Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karter Marcum, who went 1-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Quinn Shreiner Landes was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Goshen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

The win got Goshen back to even at 2-2. As for La Porte, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
