Basketball Recap: El Monte Takes a Loss

El Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell to the Garey Vikings 47-43. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 48-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

El Monte's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Garey, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Monte will face off against Azusa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Garey, they will square off against Elizabeth at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Elizabeth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Garey likes a good challenge.
