Softball Game Preview: Steilacoom Sentinels vs. Orting Cardinals

Steilacoom hasn't had much luck against Orting recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Sentinels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Steilacoom will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Orting, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Sentinels put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 11-4 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sentinels.

Aubrey Gidley was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Gidley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Harper Runn was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Avalee Farina was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Steilacoom hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orting struck out nine times.
