Volleyball Game Preview: Miami Stingarees vs. Belen Jesuit Wolverines

The Miami Stingarees will challenge the Belen Jesuit Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Miami is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Seminole Ridge, who was ranked 19th at the time (Miami was ranked sixth). The Stingarees narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hawks 3-2. The Stingarees haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Miami was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-104), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 15-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Belen Jesuit posted their closest victory since March 21st on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Coral Gables. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Belen Jesuit got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 14-25, 15-12.

Belen Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Miami, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Miami came out on top in a nail-biter against Belen Jesuit in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Stingarees have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
