Santa Paula and Malibu are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Cardinals will host the Sharks at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Santa Paula has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Santa Paula faced off against Oaks Christian on Thursday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2.

Santa Paula saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruben Venegas, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Malibu was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Fillmore.

Santa Paula's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Malibu, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Santa Paula took their win against Malibu in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
