Basketball Recap: Brady Drops Season-High Score on Sandhills Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brady). They blew past the Sandhills Valley Mavericks 55-29 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since December 27, 2024.

Brady got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Preslee Bartels out in front who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and five boards. What's more, Bartels also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Lydic, who posted 11 points.

Despite the defeat, Sandhills Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Avery Weems went 8 for 20 on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Rachael Kemp-Powers also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first boards of the season.

Brady has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Sandhills Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Brady wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-39 defeat against Arapahoe on the 7th. As for Sandhills Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 49-35 loss against Paxton on the 7th.
