Football Recap: The First Academy Royals vs. Lipscomb Academy Mustangs
The First Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 28-23 victory over the Lipscomb Academy Mustangs on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Royals' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 65th in Florida, while the Mustangs are ranked 15th in Tennessee).
The First Academy can attribute much of their success to Salomon Georges, who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 170 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. A healthy portion of that aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Demetrice Mccray.
The First Academy will challenge Edgewater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lipscomb Academy, they will square off against Thompson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
