Basketball Recap: Olathe West Takes a Loss

Olathe West lost against Shawnee Mission East back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Olathe West Owls were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olathe West's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Shawnee Mission East, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Owls face off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shawnee Mission East, they will take on Shawnee Mission South on Friday. Shawnee Mission South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Shawnee Mission East likes a good challenge.
