Basketball Recap: Christian Collegiate Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Christian Collegiate Academy came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-51 W against the Bay Tigers. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 52-50 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Christian Collegiate Academy found their leader in freshman Kenneth Dukes Jr., who shot 73% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Those 73% field goal percentage set a new season-high mark for Dukes Jr. Another player making a difference was Noah Davis, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Bay's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Robinson, who posted 21 points. That was a full 41.2% of the Tigers' points, marking the sixth time in a row Robinson has put up more than a third of the team's points. Aj Dunklin was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Christian Collegiate Academy's record is now 8-3. As for Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Christian Collegiate Academy will head out to take on Columbia Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Bay, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Stanislaus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
