 Haverling was the  6-3 winner over Wayland-Cohocton when they last played one another  back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Haverling Rams took  an  8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayland-Cohocton Eagles on Wednesday. Haverling has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Gage Thomas put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 11 batters over  six innings while giving up  four earned  (and four unearned) runs off   five  hits. Thomas was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Thomas wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Ethan Brotz, who  went 2-for-3 with  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Dylan Wenban, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base.
 On Wayland-Cohocton's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Zach Semmel, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 Haverling's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Wayland-Cohocton, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
 Haverling will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Avoca Central at 5:00  p.m. Avoca Central is coming into the  match with three straight  losses on the road,  meaning Haverling will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they will  challenge Warsaw at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday.
