Baseball Recap: Onalaska Comes Up Short

Onalaska fell victim to Rainier and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountaineers. The defeat continues a trend for the Loggers in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost six in a row.

Cooper Lawrence was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Onalaska's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rainier, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

While Onalaska had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
