Volleyball Recap: Valerie Rivas Key Part of Team Effort in Buccaneers Win

Bellflower took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Narbonne, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buccaneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Gauchos on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bellflower to victory, but perhaps none more so than Valerie Rivas, who had 25 assists. Those 25 assists gave Rivas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Valeria Salazar, who had five digs and five aces.

Bellflower's victory bumped their record up to 5-23. As for Narbonne, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coming up, Bellflower will face off against Lynwood at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Narbonne, they will head out on the road to take on Carson at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
