Soccer Game Preview: Alpena vs. Gaylord

The Alpena Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Gaylord Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpena is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Alpena didn't have quite enough to beat Petoskey and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Alpena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Petoskey are ranked 65th).

Meanwhile, Gaylord fell victim to Traverse City Central and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0.

Alpena's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Gaylord, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Alpena couldn't quite get it done against Gaylord in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 4-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
