Softball Recap: Carbondale Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carbondale can now relate to. They fell just short of the Marion Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-3 loss on May 8th.

Carbondale's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-13. As for Marion, they pushed their record up to 25-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Carbondale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marion, they will take on Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
