Football Recap: Yale Falls to Dewar in First Game of Season

Yale unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Dewar Dragons on Friday, falling 54-6. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Despite the loss, Yale still got an impressive performance from Braiden Hodgett, who rushed for 119 yards and one TD while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Hodgett's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yale will face off against Coyle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dewar, they will head out to challenge Wetumka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
