Basketball Recap: Melrose Comes Up Short

Melrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters, falling 57-31. While losing is never fun, the Dutchmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Mainstreeters are ranked 15th).

Melrose's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Sauk Centre, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Melrose will take on Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Sauk Centre has already played their next game, a 56-40 win against Albany on the 17th.
