Basketball Recap: Wells Leopards vs. Eureka Vandals
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wells can now relate to. They lost 46-21 to the Eureka Vandals on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Leopards couldn't push the score so high this time.
Megan Johnson was her usual excellent self, going 6-for-10 on her way to 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Eureka. Johnson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Anna Mckay was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Eureka, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.
Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eureka, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-34 win against McDermitt on the 15th.
