Basketball Recap: Ta'sheena Lynch's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Lenoir over Greene Central

North Lenoir lost against Greene Central back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The North Lenoir Hawks fell just short of the Greene Central Rams by a score of 41-38. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 10-6 in the first quarter.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ta'Sheena Lynch, who posted 12 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidee Fraser, who scored ten points and five assists.

It was another big night for An'nysha Wooten, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds for Greene Central. Wooten is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

North Lenoir has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Greene Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10.

North Lenoir has already played their next contest, a 63-28 defeat against Kinston on the 13th. Greene Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
