Basketball Recap: Piper Ramey Key Part of a Team Effort in Chargin' Chargers Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Montgomery walked away with it. They walked away with a 39-27 win over the Delphi Community Oracles on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Chargin' Chargers: when they faced off against the Oracles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 49-45 defeat.

North Montgomery's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Piper Ramey led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Ramey is becoming a predictor of North Montgomery's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 11-4 (and 4-5 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Macee Norman, who posted ten points and six boards.

North Montgomery smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds.they pulled down six more offensive boards than Delphi Community's almost as impressive total of ten

Makayla Smith and Sarah Perry certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Smith had seven points and five rebounds, while Perry put up nine points.

North Montgomery's record is now 15-9. As for Delphi Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.

North Montgomery has already played their next matchup, a 45-36 victory against Western Boone on the 7th. Delphi Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
