Basketball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Nikiski Bulldogs on the road by a 55-40 margin. The Mariners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Nikiski, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homer will venture away from home to take on Seward at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seward will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Homer surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nikiski, they will head out on the road to square off against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nikiski has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
