The Garfield Bulldogs will face off against the Ingraham Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Garfield will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Garfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 38-1 margin over Rainier Beach on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Nash Whitford and Logan Caravalho were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Whitford pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Caravalho tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Whitford also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Garfield is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. At bat, Whitford got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and three RBI, while Caravalho went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Whitford a new career-high.

In other batting news, Garfield let Mateo Acevedo and Prince Davis run wild. Acevedo went 3-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI, while Davis went 1-for-2 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave Davis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Burke Lowe, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Garfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, Ingraham came up short against Kamiak on Saturday and fell 6-1.
Ingraham saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Doyle, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Ingraham's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Garfield, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Everything went Garfield's way against Ingraham in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Garfield made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
