Basketball Recap: Vicksburg Comes Up Short

Vicksburg was the 63-60 winner over Neshoba Central when they last played one another on January 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Vicksburg Gators fell 62-50 to the Neshoba Central Rockets on Friday.

Neshoba Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Iyley Denson, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave Denson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiar Henry, who scored 12 points.

Vicksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Neshoba Central, they pushed their record up to 13-12 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vicksburg won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neshoba Central has already played their next match (against Callaway), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
