Austin Coker and Taurus Lewis Jr secure win for Blythewood

Recap: Blythewood Bengals vs. Rock Hill Bearcats

The Blythewood Bengals waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 53-47 W over Rock Hill. Given Blythewood's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Bearcats are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Blythewood was led to victory by Austin Coker and Taurus Lewis Jr. Coker scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Lewis Jr scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Kishan Chung was another key contributor, scoring three points along with three steals.

Despite the loss, Rock Hill had strong showings from Dashawn Anderson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Kyriq Dickens, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season.

Blythewood is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Rock Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Blythewood will head out on the road to take on the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Justin Skelton and Lewis Jr. As for Rock Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Blue Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Clover is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season.
