Basketball Recap: Harvard's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Harvard came into Friday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past the Durand Bulldogs with a 42-37 win on Friday. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 67-25 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Durand lost, don't look at Gavin Rohde. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Rohde a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Rager, who posted six points and 14 rebounds.

Harvard's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Durand, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Alden-Hebron the next time they take the court. Durand will head out to face Alden-Hebron at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Harvard will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
