Softball Recap: Archbishop Ryan Wins Going Away Against Archbishop Carroll

Archbishop Ryan made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Archbishop Carroll, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Raiders and Ragdolls put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 8-2 win on Tuesday. The Raiders and Ragdolls not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.

Madison Velez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 18 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Tracey, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Moira Maw, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Archbishop Ryan's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for Archbishop Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Ryan will face off against Conwell-Egan Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Carroll, they will head out to face off against Baldwin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
