Recap: Edgewood Cougars vs. Valley View Spartans
The Edgewood Cougars waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They took down Valley View 55-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Edgewood also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2021.
Rylie Homan was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Drew Swartzel was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Edgewood's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Valley View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewood has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Hornets at 7:15 p.m. on February 1st. Valley View will take on the Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Brookville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
