Football Recap: South Jefferson Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for South Jefferson's offense. They were outmatched by the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils and fell 42-0. The Spartans have struggled against the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

South Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, South Jefferson will challenge Institute of Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Spartans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they will square off against New Hartford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
