Softball Recap: C.B. Aycock Takes a Loss

C.B. Aycock was the 5-4 winner over East Wake when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Golden Falcons fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Golden Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Kaitlyn Lancaster was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashleigh Gardner, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

C.B. Aycock's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for East Wake, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. C.B. Aycock will host Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Demons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.65 runs per game on average), something the Golden Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Wake, they will face off against Rolesville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.31 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
