Wyatt Farney Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Salida had to settle for second even though Wyatt Farney put up the best numbers he has all season. Farney rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

On the season, Farney has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 19.2 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 10.2 receiving yards per game.

Big Game from Lucero As Pagosa Springs Won 35-20

Pagosa Springs picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Colton Lucero. Lucero was dynamite, rushing for 150 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 32 receiving yards. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.

This season, Lucero has averaged 27.4 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 57.2 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 193.2 rushing yards.

Dyson Woodward Crosses Big Stat Threshold

The second Alamosa player making an appearance here is Dyson Woodward, and for good reason. He rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 90 yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (101.4).

Woodward is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Gunnison on Friday. Woodward rushed for 112 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 211 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Cowboys duked it out back in September of 2023.
