Sudan is 8-1 against Plains since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hornets will look to defend their home field against the Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Plains took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sudan, who comes in off a win.

Sudan will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Vega on Friday. The Hornets blew past the Longhorns 35-6. That looming 35-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hornets yet this season.

Meanwhile, Plains didn't have quite enough to beat Crosbyton on Friday and fell 29-27.

Sudan will have to keep a close watch on Braylon Ward and Jeremiah Gonzales, a pair of players who had a big impact on Plains' prior game. Ward threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, while Gonzales picked up 54 receiving yards and one score.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least four total tackles, Angel Garcia stood above the rest. He made four total tackles. Plains' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.8.

Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Sudan, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
