Baseball Game Preview: Lowellville Rockets vs. McDonald Blue Devils

Lowellville hasn't had much luck against McDonald recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rockets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Lowellville has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lowellville took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Garfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rockets had just enough and edged out the G-Men 13-12 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rockets considering their one-run performance the contest before.

The team relied heavily on Liam Bartlett, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Lowellville is undefeated when Bartlett posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Likens, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Lowellville's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for McDonald, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
