Baseball Game Preview: Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks vs. Bradford Railroaders

The Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks will square off against the Bradford Railroaders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Mississinawa Valley nor Bradford posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Monday, Mississinawa Valley came up short against Tri-County North and fell 5-2. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Mississinawa Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elliott Seubert, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Bradford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-0 to Arcanum.

Bradford also got a good showing from Desmond Keels, who struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs Keels has allowed since April 1st.

Bradford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Mississinawa Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Everything went Mississinawa Valley's way against Bradford when the teams last played back in March, as Mississinawa Valley made off with an 11-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
