Basketball Recap: Choctawhatchee Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Choctawhatchee and Ridgeview squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Choctawhatchee had to settle for second. They fell 58-48 to the Ridgeview Panthers. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Ridgeview's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nacoya Blocton, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Blocton has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Rayes, who posted 19 points.

Choctawhatchee's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Ridgeview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Choctawhatchee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ridgeview, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker T. Washington will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Ridgeview surely won't give up without a fight.
