Baseball Recap: Belle Plaine Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Belle Plaine fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against New Ulm on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Luke Schultz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run was his first of the season. Chaz Iovino was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Belle Plaine's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-3. As for New Ulm, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belle Plaine will head out to square off against Maple River at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Ulm, they will venture away from home to challenge Worthington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
