            Tunkhannock dropped their record down to 19-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They took  a  7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley View Cougars. The Tigers were not able to make up for their  loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting  back in May of 2023.

 McKenzie Hannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Tunkhannock saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Addisyn Waterman, who  went 2-for-3 with one  run.
As for Valley View, the  win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-2-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.1 runs over those games.
 On Valley View's side,  Taylor Cawley made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk). Cawley was also stellar in the batter's box,  firing off two  home runs and four  RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most  home runs  she has posted since back in April.
While Tunkhannock had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
