Basketball Recap: McEachern Comes Up Short

McEachern suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2024 on Saturday. They were beaten by the Milton Eagles 67-36. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, McEachern saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Couzens posted 15 points.

Leading Milton to victory were Londyn Walker and Deyva Davis. Walker went 10 for 19 en route to 24 points in addition to six boards and five assists, while Davis went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points and four steals. That's the most points Walker has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caroline Young, who had five points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

McEachern's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Milton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

McEachern will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Campbell at 6:00 p.m. Campbell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for Milton, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Lanier likes a good challenge.
