Soccer Game Preview: South Mecklenburg vs. Mooresville

The South Mecklenburg Sabres are taking a road trip to take on the Mooresville Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

South Mecklenburg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals last Thursday, they were much more limited against Myers Park on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Mooresville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lake Norman by a score of 3-2.

Riley Alexander and Macie Cline scored both of Mooresville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

South Mecklenburg's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6-1. As for Mooresville, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 12-4-3.

South Mecklenburg came up short against Mooresville in their previous matchup back in March of 2017, falling 3-1. Can the Sabres avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
