Recap: Oakwood Academy Mustangs vs. Columbia Eagles

The Oakwood Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia. If Oakwood Academy was looking for revenge after losing 61-58 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Oakwood Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Lewis. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lewis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Callendar, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.

Oakwood Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Oakwood Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Columbia, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-22.

Oakwood Academy will take on the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Head has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Columbia, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grissom presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Alabama (the Tigers are ranked 23rd, while the Eagles are ranked 237th).
