Basketball Recap: Salmon River Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Salmon River kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 63-44 bruising from the Nezperce Nighthawks. The Savages haven't had much luck with the Nighthawks recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Salmon River lost, don't look at Blake Shepherd. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points and six rebounds.

Nezperce pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Salmon River will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clearwater Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th. Nezperce has already played their next game (against Genesee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
