Softball Recap: Pine Forest Extends Winning Streak to Six

Pine Forest waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Terry Sanford Bulldogs. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by exactly 15 runs.

Aaliyah Roche made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Mya Harris and Gracie Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Harris got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Miller went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four runs gave Harris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Vargas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI.

Pine Forest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Pine Forest's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Terry Sanford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

As of now, neither Pine Forest nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
