Darien had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over the Notre Dame Green Knights on Sunday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Wave.
Joe Capasso and Termaine Barr certainly did their best on Sunday to avoid the loss. Capasso rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown, while Barr picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Capasso's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 104 rushing yards.
Darien has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.4 points per game. As for Notre Dame, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.
Darien will square off against New Canaan at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Canaan will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Darien surely won't give up without a fight. Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
