Basketball Recap: Merritt Takes a Loss

Merritt was the 32-30 winner over Hammon when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the Merritt Oilers and the Hammon Warriors didn't end well, with the Merritt Oilers falling 56-39. While losing is never fun, the Oilers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Warriors are ranked 48th).

Merritt has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Hammon, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Merritt will head out to challenge Snyder at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Merritt is facing Snyder at the right time seeing as Snyder is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hammon, they will take on Hinton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
