Volleyball Preview: A Rolling Lund Meets a Wounded Eureka

It's finally time for Lund to settle a conference score, as they gear up for their first in-conference showdown of the season. They will head out to square off against the Eureka Vandals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eureka took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lund, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Lund got the win against Indian Springs by a conclusive 3-0. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Lund's got stronger as the match went on, holding Indian Springs to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-11, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lund to victory, but perhaps none more so than MADI CARTER, who had seven aces and four digs. TESSA HOOLEY was another key player, getting 12 digs, eight kills, and two aces.

Meanwhile, Eureka came up short against White Pine on Saturday, falling 3-0.

While Eureka was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into White Pine's winning margin in every set. The final set scores came out to 25-8, 25-15, 25-16.

Lund will need to focus on slowing down Anna McKay, one of several Eureka players who made an impact when they last played. She had eight assists and six digs.

Lund has now won five of their last six games on the road. That's given a solid lift to their 8-4-1 record this season. As for Eureka, they have traveled a rocky road for a while, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's taken a bite out of their 4-7 record this season.
