League recap: Jamestown tops Orchard Park to extend winning streak

Jamestown added to the longest winning streak in Section 6 AA this week by beating Orchard Park, 42-41. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Red Raiders.

Clarence scaled the state rankings by moving to 121 from 169 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Red Devils were able to move up by beating Niagara Falls 28-0.

Jamestown's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Sisson threw for 444 and 3 touchdowns and Stephen Carlson had 202 yards receiving. On the ground Sisson contributed 70 yards. Zach Panebianco helped Jamestown's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 120 yards.

Sisson put up the best numbers through the air as Tom Langworthy's team bested the Quakers. Sisson's favorite target this week was Carlson, who caught 11 passes for 202 yards.

The Red Raiders' Sisson and Carlson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Sisson has thrown for 2,015 yards this season, while Carlson has 39 catches for 697 yards. Frontier's Cameron Coon leads the league in rushing yards with 583.

A big matchup in Section 6 AA this week will be when Kenmore West takes on Lancaster. The Blue Devils are currently in third, while the Redskins are in fifth.

Jamestown and Orchard Park played the closest game in the league this week, with Jamestown eventually emerging with a 42-41 victory. Sisson ran for 70 yards during the win.
