Baseball Recap: Cascade Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Cascade won against Western Boone on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Cadets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars. The win was nothing new for the Cadets as they're now sitting on three straight.

TJ Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Beikes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Delton Howrey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cascade pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Cascade didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-6 victory against North Putnam on the 3rd. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 9-2 win against Indy Genesis HomeSchool on the 5th.
